The Carbonit CITO-QC Basic water filter is a standard device with a Quick Connect (QC) quick-change system and is used when branching off from the water line. The filter is used for water filtration in the kitchen and for producing purified drinking water, even with high lead and copper concentrations. With the Basic version, you are free to choose which filter cartridge you want to use, allowing you to adapt the filter system to your own requirements.

Description of the filter

The device is installed under the sink (under-sink water filter). A faucet is not included in the delivery but can be purchased in the faucets category. In principle, all offered faucets fit, but for practical reasons we recommend a three-way faucet, as no additional hole needs to be drilled into the sink.

The filter housing (from the QC lid downward) is removed from the fixed QC head by turning "open". The cartridge change is then carried out separately in the sink.
Reinstallation of the filter housing is done by axial insertion and turning "close".
The filter unit is connected by branching off from the cold water line (after the angle valve). Since only part of the water (for drinking purposes, ...) is filtered and withdrawn separately, this extends the service life of the filter cartridge. Alternatively, you can connect any of the available faucets to the outlet hose (with 3/8" union nut).

Filter usage notes

A filter cartridge must be added to the offered main CITO-QC Basic kit for branch installation.
In case of premature clogging of the filter cartridge (which can occur due to fine particles in the unfiltered water), pre-filtration with VFS09/ is recommended. This should preferably be ordered with 1µm filtration fineness. You will need a second filter housing for this. You can use the VARIO-HP pre-filter kit.
