The refill pack for the nitrate ion-exchange resin can only be used in combination with the IK Refill Cartridge NF 2. Nitrate reduction is achieved through ion exchange. The flow rate should be limited to 1 l/min. A higher flow rate is possible but will reduce the filtration performance.Performance Ion-Exchange Resin
The performance or flow rate is regulated by the filtered water. The resin should be disposed of in household waste after its service life. For hygiene reasons, this is recommended at least every six months. You can reorder the ion-exchange resin from us at any time.Ion-Exchange Resin
A water filter with ion-exchange resin is set up as follows:The ion-exchange resin must be combined with a Carbonit IK Refill Cartridge NF 2. This means that the ion-exchange resin must be filled into the cartridge. This cartridge with the ion-exchange resin must then be placed into a suitable water filter. All common Carbonit models (Vario, Sanuno, Duo, CITO) and the Alvito Aquanevo countertop and under-sink water filters are suitable. The ion-exchange resin should be replaced every six months, while the cartridge can be reused.
Usage Notes
As with all other water filters from Carbonit and Alvito, usage should only take place with cold water, and the ion-exchange resin should be protected from frost. You can determine the nitrate concentration more precisely using test strips or titration kits, which can be found in aquarium supply stores. Attention: The consumption period indicated on the box label corresponds to a minimum shelf life. It is generally specified as 12 months after filling and ensures that the granulate does not dry out (reduced performance when dry). Storing large quantities of refill packs is therefore not recommended. The granulate remains fully effective after the expiry date if it is slightly moist (like damp soil). A return after the expiration date is not possible.Filter Devices
