Application
The
Carbonit Nitrate Filter Cartridge consists of two components: the nitrate ion exchange resin and the Carbonit IK refill cartridge. The filter is used when your water shows an increased nitrate concentration. This is currently occurring more frequently, as the increased use of fertilizers raises nitrate levels in the soil and therefore also in the water.
Function
The Carbonit nitrate ion exchange resin filters nitrate from the water through a special ion exchange process and stores it within its own mass. The stored nitrate is not released back into your water. According to hygiene regulations, the resin should be replaced every 6 months. The IK refill cartridge can be reused repeatedly.
The performance of the filter depends on the nitrate concentration in your water.
The use of the filter cartridge for nitrate reduction should only be carried out with cold water.
